Harmonized System Tariff PG (7874) 3CP

This unit introduces students to the World Customs Organizations’s Harmonized Commodity Description and Coding System Convention (HS) currently in use in 177 countries and economies as a basis for their Customs tariffs and for the collection of international trade statistics. There is a particular focus on the dynamics of the international nature of the nomenclature and its legal and logical structure.

Students will acquire the skills and knowledge required to enable them to classify imported goods for Customs purposes under their national legislation through the utilisation of the Interpretation Rules, section and chapter notes.
