Customs Reform and Modernisation PG (6806) 6CP
Course DescriptionThis unit introduces students to the requirement for customs administrations to reform and modernise their structures, policies and procedures and the significance of the revised Kyoto Convention and role of the World Customs Organization in supporting customs reform and modernisation. It also introduces students to the design and implementation of strategic planning for Customs administrations and change management techniques and strategies to support a reform and modernisation process.
Students in this unit will learn how to identify key issues to be addressed in a reform and modernisation program, define major objectives of such a program and identify impediments to the reform and modernisation process. They will acquire an understanding of the strategies and techniques necessary to implement a successful program of organisational change.
