Course Description

This unit introduces students to the international law principles governing anti-dumping and countervailing, the policy approaches of governments to anti-dumping, and the implementation of the international agreements in domestic Australian law, as compared with the US and EU legal systems.

 

Students in this unit will learn how to interpret relevant international agreements on anti-dumping and countervailing, analyse Australian law and apply the principles and concepts to factual situations, compare Australian practice with other jurisdictions, and understand alternative policy approaches to anti-dumping, including the development of competition law at the international level.
