Six ACT firms make export awards finals

Six ACT businesses will go on to compete against the country's top exporters after being announced as finalists in this year's Australian Export Awards.

The 2004 finalists for the ACT are Jonathan Baskett Studio Glass, IELTS Australia, The Distillery Pty Ltd, Protocom Development and Systems, the Centre for Customs and Excise Studies, and CIC Secure.

Congratulating the finalists at a breakfast yesterday, Trade Minister Mark Vaile said the businesses had become role models for Australian organisations looking to export to world markets.

"The businesses I have mentioned here today should be extremely proud of the contribution they have made towards building a stronger Australian economy," he said.

"Their nomination as finalists gives a clear indication of how hard their management and staff have worked to become successful Australian exporters."
